The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has revealed information about Apple’s upcoming product, the Beats Studio Buds+ wireless earphones. This development may explain why the current version of the noise-canceling earbuds is being sold for less than $100 on Amazon, as the retailer may be clearing out inventory in preparation for the Plus version’s release.
Additionally, Amazon mistakenly listed the Beats Studio Buds+, inadvertently revealing new specifications and a new transparent case design. This design option is similar to what Apple has done with its Ear wireless earphones, and it appears that the Beats Studio Buds+ will embrace this same approach this year. When released on May 18th, the Plus version will be available in Black and Ivory.
According to MacRumors, the price for the Beats Studio Buds+ will be $169.95. While the 2021 Studio Buds at around $100 are still appealing, the Plus version boasts the latest technology advancements that Apple has to offer in noise-canceling earphones. It is still a more affordable option compared to the AirPods Pro 2, which retails for $249 but can be purchased for under $200.
The new earphones will feature 3x larger microphones and air vent changes. Additionally, the active noise cancelation is expected to be up to 1.6x better than the original Studio Buds, with up to 2x improved Transparency mode. Battery life has also increased to 36 hours, and the earphones come with USB-C charging, which is the same as its predecessor.
The Beats Studio Buds+ is also equipped with IPX4 water resistance and includes XS, S, M, and L ear tip size options. With the May 18th release date listed by Amazon, it is expected that Apple will announce them in the coming weeks, and they will be available for purchase directly from Apple and other retailers.
