Solana’s primary Web3 wallet, Phantom Wallet, grapples with an outage, causing transaction disruptions for users in the Solana ecosystem.
Phantom Wallet, renowned as the dominant wallet within Solana’s Web3 ecosystem, reportedly experiences technical difficulties, leaving users unable to view submitted transactions.
Reports from Solana and Phantom Wallet communities indicate that the browser version of the wallet fails to display transaction submissions. Users encounter hurdles in initiating and completing transactions without insight into the underlying issues.
While several users confirm the outage, it appears to affect only a portion of users, with some successfully completing transactions amidst the disruption. Independent Crypto Journalist Colin Wu shared a screenshot displaying a “no data” prompt on the wallet’s overview page.
Phantom Wallet has yet to address these outage reports, suggesting that the downtime may not be widespread. However, downtime incidents are not uncommon for Phantom Wallet, given its history of experiencing technical challenges, including a recent DDoS attack in February.
As Solana’s network expands, the Solana Foundation actively seeks solutions to address recurring outages. Priority fee payments and optimization of compute unit usage are among the proposed measures to enhance network scalability and reliability.
Despite Solana’s promising technological advancements, experts caution that persistent outage issues could hinder its ability to surpass Ethereum in the long run.
