Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship has launched a national blockchain technology network called MODEE DLT. This initiative, in partnership with Jordanian blockchain company Blockexe, aims to improve trust and transparency in government services.
MODEE DLT has been integrated with the “Sanad” system. This provides a decentralised and verifiable digital record of all Sanad transactions. This integration seeks to enhance digital trust and streamline e-government services. The new blockchain network aligns with Jordan’s Digital Transformation Strategy (2021-2025). This strategy highlights the government’s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure.
Blockchain technology is known for its accuracy, security, and confidentiality. It ensures that transaction data and user information remain private and protected. The decentralized nature of blockchain prevents any single entity from controlling or manipulating the data, thus boosting security and transparency.
The Ministry emphasized that using MODEE DLT in various government sectors will create a reliable digital environment. This supports the Kingdom’s broader goals of achieving a robust and trustworthy digital economy.
By leveraging blockchain technology, Jordan aims to create a more transparent and efficient government service framework. This move reflects its dedication to innovation and digital advancement.
