South Korean gaming giant Com2uS has forged a strategic alliance with the Oasys blockchain project to fortify its foothold in the Japanese gaming arena, the third-largest gaming market globally.
In a bid to penetrate deeper into Japan’s gaming landscape, Com2uS is set to roll out two web3 games within the first half of 2024, leveraging the renowned intellectual properties (IPs) it holds. The collaboration with Oasys, known for its associations with major gaming entities like SoftBank and Sega, aims to provide robust technical infrastructure compliant with Japan’s regulatory framework.
Paul Kim, the XPLA Team Lead at Com2uS, highlighted the significance of this partnership in tapping into Japan’s vast gaming community, estimated at a whopping 55 million players.
Moreover, Com2uS plans to integrate its flagship game franchises such as ‘Summoners War: Chronicle’ and ‘The Walking Dead: All Stars’ onto the Oasys network. This move not only promises to enhance the visibility of these games but also capitalize on the technical prowess of the Oasys blockchain for an immersive gaming experience.
The partnership announcement sparked a notable uptick in the value of the Oasys token (OAS), surging by 22% to $0.1421. Despite a subsequent price adjustment to $0.1285, industry observers remain optimistic about the collaborative potential to revolutionize web3 gaming.
Dominic Jang, spearheading business development and Korea initiatives at Oasys, expressed confidence in the partnership’s ability to foster innovative gaming experiences. “We are also confident our collaboration will lead to the kind of innovative gaming experiences that players deserve,” he remarked.
